The Experience

I like to create a lovely blend of classic and modern. I try to keep my editing timeless, genuine, and clean, and while I appreciate a good artistic twist on image processing and occasionally do a pretty vintage edit, I try to avoid fads in photo editing. Your images will be as treasured ten years from now as they are today.

Together, we will make fresh, vibrant art from a belly laugh or a tender kiss. A goofy face, or a tickle fight, or even a cuddle pile. I love a loud, crinkled-nose laugh, and a thoughtful face in profile when the little ones don’t know that I’m looking. We’ll catch crickets and blow dandelion cotton. We’ll get leaves in our hair, and probably more than a few grass-stained knees. In winter, we’ll bundle in crazy-colored scarves and make snow angels, and you’ll keep your loved ones extra close against the cold. We’ll make the world’s sweetest, silliest snowman, and you’ll rub tiny cold kiddo’s noses with your own.

It is my goal to keep the entire process as simple and fun for you as I can; from booking all the way through our session together. I won’t confuse you with dozens of fancy packages or different session fees. One {simple investment} gets you all the goodies; up to two hours of fun with your family in front of my lens, professional editing, and a curated online gallery of your session where you can download high-resolution, full-size digital negatives. Prints and wall art are also available at modest additional cost, directly through the online gallery.

Booking your session is as easy as sending an email to info @ jennyhooks.com. Let me know what type of session you’re looking for, and a few dates that would be ideal for you. I try to always respond by the next business day.

In the warmer months, we can do evening shoots during the week, and weekend shoots can be done any time of day. Since I am a natural light photographer, we have to chase the light, and ideal light is within a few hours after sunrise and a few hours before sunset. Though not ideal, afternoon sessions are a possibility, but we’ll need to find shade. Indoor sessions are usually best shot in the mornings, and in homes with plenty of natural light streaming through nice, big windows.

Once you’re ready to book, you will receive a brief Client Questionnaire that will enable me to plan the perfect the photo session experience for you. Find it here. I’ll also send you my portrait contract via email, which will include information about sending your retainer to lock in your session date.

I can’t wait to meet you! Let’s save the day together.
